Spent two days on a custom cabinet install using my Festool domino system, quoted the client $2k flat rate thinking it'd be smooth. Turns out the face frames were warped as hell from the supplier, and now the whole thing's gotta come out. FML, anyone got tips for avoiding this crap next time?

Measure twice, but check your supplier's lumber too. I always hit up local mills instead of big box.

Damn that sucks man, been there with warped plywood eating my weekend.

Yeah, warped stuff is the worst. Switched to Baltic birch and never looked back.

Same here, lost a whole Saturday to some bad pre-fab doors.

Festool's great but doesn't fix garbage materials. I markup 20% for contingencies now.

Hate when suppliers screw you over like that.

For real, it's like they don't even kiln dry anymore.

Client blamed me for the warp. Had to eat the redo cost.

That's BS. Document everything with pics before starting.

LOL at least you got that fancy Festool to show off while reinstalling.

SharkBite for plumbing, but for wood? Nah, stick to pocket screws over dominos for budget jobs. Fight me.

Big box stores and their cheap imports are killing us all.

Never trust a supplier without samples first. Saved my ass on a deck build last month.

Suppliers are the real enemy here. Time to unionize or something.

Yeah, PE firms buying up lumber yards ain't helping.

Exactly, prices up and quality down. We're all getting hosed.

Heard a rant in The Contractor Fight group about this exact issue.

I quote separate line items for material risks now.

Smart move. Wish I'd done that on my last cabinet gig.

Warped frames suck, but Festool makes fixing it faster at least.

True, that tool's a beast even in screwups.

This is why I source from small local guys only.

Clients don't get it, they think we're magicians with bad wood.

Insurance should cover supplier defects, but good luck with claims.

Document the hell out of it next time, photos of every piece.

Don't quote flat rate on unknowns, T&M all the way.
