Frustrated with permit BS for custom cabinet jobs

Man, I just spent two days on a custom kitchen remodel, building out inset cabinets with dovetail drawers using my Festool Domino for those perfect joints, and now the damn inspector is holding up the whole thing because I didn't get a permit for the structural mods to the wall framing. It's like they change the rules every time, one job you're good with just a quick sign-off, next time it's a full circus. Saw a similar rant in the Contractors Network Facebook group last week about this crap. I've been doing this for 10 years and it still pisses me off how much time we waste on paperwork instead of actual work. Anyone got tips on streamlining this without getting fined? NGL, sometimes I feel like quitting on these bureaucratic headaches. Edit: turns out it was a code for load-bearing changes I missed.
