Bookkeeping nightmares as a carpenter in north jersey

Man, being a solo carpenter in north jersey is tough enough with all the old houses needing custom trim and cabinet work, but tracking every damn receipt for Festool tools and lumber is killing me. I dropped $2,800 last month on materials from Grainger alone, and now my QuickBooks is a mess trying to categorize it all for taxes. Saw a thread on r/Carpentry where guys were sharing their horror stories, and it got me thinking about hiring a bookkeeper, but that sounds like another expense I can't afford. Someone in the Contractors Network Facebook group mentioned using something simple like FreshBooks, but idk if it's worth the switch from what I've got. NGL, I'm commiserating with anyone else buried in receipts after a long day on the job site. We've all been there, right?

Bookkeepers are overrated for small ops like ours; just use apps and save the cash.
