Was rushing through a face frame cabinet job this morning when my Festool Domino slipped and almost gouged the cherry plywood panel. Heart stopped for a second, managed to save it but damn that was close to a $2500 redo. Watched a Matt Risinger video last week on precision joinery and it saved my ass.
been there with my domino, almost turned a $1800 job into a total redo last month and i was sweatin bullets

festool dominos are overrated garbage, i'd rather stick with biscuit joiners any day and save the headache.

slow the hell down with that domino, i saw a guy rush a joint like that and it turned a $5k kitchen into scrap wood real quick.

festool dominos are like exes, gorgeous and precise until they decide to screw you over at the worst moment.

damn near screwed up a $1500 stair rail last week with my domino, rushed the alignment and it wandered half an inch off, what a nightmare.

festool gear is overpriced bs anyway, had a similar near miss with a cheaper knockoff and it held up fine. screw the hype.

use a jig setup to lock that domino in place, saved me on a similar $2k job last month. way less chance of slip.

i always double check clamps before powering on. try marking your mortise lines with blue tape too.

yep, tape method works wonders for visibility on dark woods like cherry.
