I've been doing this cleaning gig for 5 years now, mostly scrubbing down office break rooms and deep cleaning hoarder houses on the weekends. Biggest win was landing a steady contract with a local law firm in the Chicago area my whole career, using that Method all-purpose cleaner that doesn't leave streaks on their glass conference tables, keeps me booked solid three days a week. But damn, the losses pile up too, like that time I quoted a full house deep clean with my Bissell Big Green machine and the client ghosted after I showed up with all my gear. Saw a post on r/CleaningTips about handling flaky clients, but honestly, someone in the Cleaning Business Owners group had better advice on deposits. Another win was switching to microfiber cloths from Home Depot, cuts my wiping time in half without chemicals everywhere. Losses? Burned through a whole bottle of Simple Green on a grease trap that was way worse than advertised, should've walked away. Overall, the wins keep me going, but you gotta learn from the screw-ups.

screw those ghosting clients, they're the worst part of this job, always underestimating what it takes to get grime out.
