Man, I just started my cleaning gig down here in south Florida and already got this one client who nitpicks every damn spot I miss on their tile floors. I'm using Method all-purpose cleaner and microfiber cloths like everyone says, but she calls me back two days later saying it's not shiny enough and wants a $200 refund out of the $400 I charged for the deep clean. It's my third job ever and I'm stressing because word of mouth is key in this humid hellhole where everything gets dirty fast. Anyone else deal with this crap? Saw a similar rant on r/CleaningTips but no real advice there. Also, someone in the Cleaning Business Owners Facebook group mentioned setting boundaries upfront but how do you do that without scaring them off? FML, thought cleaning houses would be straightforward.

Set your contract in stone from day one, spell out what's included in the deep clean and no refunds after 24 hours.

These picky clients piss me off, always the same in the service game, they think we're magicians. Demand full pay or walk, don't let one bad apple tank your rep.

Agreed, but as a newbie it's hard to walk when you need the cash. I've been burned twice already.

Try quoting with photos before and after, shows the work done and cuts the BS arguments.

Photos are gold, but some still complain. Had a lady say my before pic was staged lol.

SharkBite for plumbing drama, but for cleaning? Nah, just tell them upfront no guarantees on pet hair in vents or whatever.

Insurance companies love these disputes, had a claim once over a 'missed' stain that cost me $500 in hassle.

Document everything and charge a re-clean fee if they want touch-ups. Turned my first year around, now pulling steady $80k without the headaches.

Never mix bleach and ammonia on the job, saw a cleaner hospitalized from that idiocy last month, stick to pros only.
