im so over trying to upsell these basic house cleans into full deep cleans especially the ovens that havent been touched in years. i go in with my bissell powerforce and they act like im trying to rob em when i mention adding $75 for the interior scrub with that barkeepers friend paste. been doing this in the chicago area my whole career and the clients here just want the quick vacuum and dust, no matter how grimy the kitchen is. saw a post on r/CleaningTips where someone shared a similar rant and the comments were all over the place. even tried watching a melissa maker video on clean my space about gentle upselling but it aint working for me. the other day i had a lady say no to the oven clean and then complained it still smelled like burnt pizza lol. anyone got tricks for getting past that pushback without sounding pushy?

goddamn homeowners always cheap out on the extras, its like they think dirt cleans itself.

demoing a small spot helped me once, but not always.

discounts just train em to wait for deals, bad move.

start with a free spot clean to hook em, then upsell the full thing.

bundle it with the fridge clean, makes it seem like a package deal.

i try throwin in a quick 'hey your oven could use a deep clean for just $75 extra' but half the time they look at me like i just asked to paint their walls and shut it down flat.

sharkbite style upselling aint it, pros know better than to force it.
