man, running a small house cleaning service and my referral program is a total bust. i offer $25 off the next clean for anyone who refers a new client, but crickets from my regulars. been doing this in the chicago area my whole career and you'd think with all the busy families around here i'd get some word of mouth, but nope. i tried posting flyers at local spots like the dry cleaners, even mentioned it in my google business profile, but nothing. saw a thread on r/CleaningTips where someone was bragging about their system working great, made me feel even worse. someone in the Cleaning Business Owners facebook group said to sweeten the pot with gift cards, but im not sure. gonna have to rethink this whole thing before i lose more time chasing leads.

same here, referrals dried up after the holidays. feels like everyone's too broke to recommend anyone.

ugh, i know the pain. my cleaning crew's regulars act like they don't know anyone who needs service.

it's brutal when the economy's tight, people hold onto their cash instead of helping you out.

frustrated as hell with this. spent $200 on promo cards for referrers and got zero takers. what a joke.

warning: don't tie referrals to discounts only, folks ghost you after one use.

damn, thought i was alone in this crap. chicago winters probably make people hermit up too.

we're all in the same boat, referrals suck when clients don't see the value.

try the house cleaning business group on fb, they got templates for better programs.

PE firms are scooping up cleaning companies left and right, killing small ops like us.

helpful tip: track referrals with a simple app like referral rock, integrates with jobber easy.

big corps offering fat incentives are screwing over the little guys' word of mouth.

offer both sides a $50 visa gift card, works better than one-sided deals imo.

tried that, upped it to $30 each way and finally got three this month.

what's your target for referrals per month? aiming for any?
