I've been running a small residential cleaning biz in Atlanta for 8 years now, mostly deep cleans and move-outs, and my GL insurance just jumped to $4k a year with Progressive. Watched a video from CleanFreak on YouTube about how one spilled bleach claim wiped out a solo cleaner, so now I'm second-guessing if the coverage is even solid for stuff like client property damage from our vacuums or chemicals. Anyone else paying this much, or am I getting hosed?
insurance companies are straight up robbing us blind, my premium shot up 40% last year for basically the same coverage. feels like theyre just preying on small crews like yours and mine in atlanta.

shop around with something like the hartford or state farm, they often run 20-30% cheaper for gl on cleaning crews without skimping on property damage coverage. make sure your policy covers subcontractor slips too, had a buddy get dinged for that last year.

damn, 4k in atlanta feels like a kick in the teeth, been there with progressive jacking up my rates outta nowhere and leaving me wonderin if its worth the hassle.

don't skimp on that gl, i saw a crew get sued over a $2k bleach spill on carpet and their cheap policy left 'em hanging with legal fees eating their whole year. shop around insurers like the hartford, $4k sounds high but better than bankruptcy.

Switch to The Hartford if you're in the southeast, I dropped mine to $2.8k for similar coverage on house cleans by quoting around for commercial policies that include property liability.
