Just wrapped up my first week with a new helper on some recurring house cleans, and damn, it's been rough. I thought showing her how to use the Hoover Commercial backpack vac would be quick, but she keeps missing spots and the clients are noticing. We're doing 3-4 homes a day, and now I'm spending half my time fixing her oversights instead of moving to the next job. NGL, I'm second-guessing if I shoulda stuck to solo gigs longer. Anyone else been through this with their first hire? How do you train without losing your mind? Feels like I'm babysitting more than cleaning.

man, first hire was the same crap for me, kept screwin up the mop lines and i ended up redoing whole rooms just to keep clients from bitchin.

been there with my first helper, felt like i was training a toddler on vacuum lines instead of actually cleaning. took me three weeks of constant hovering before she started pulling her weight on those recurring jobs. hang in there, it gets better once they click... or you find someone who does.

first hire's like training a puppy to fetch the mop instead of chewing your shoes, but hey, at least she ain't pissing on the rugs yet. give her a week with that hoover and she'll be vacuuming circles around you.

yeah, my first helper spent more time texting than scrubbing, left streaks everywhere and i had to redo the whole damn kitchen after her 'training' day.

next time start with a 30-min checklist and have her read it back to you before she touches a sponge, it'll cut the redo time in half.

first hires are ALWAYS a crapshoot, man, its like they come in fresh off binge-watching cleaning tiktoks thinking they know it all but cant even hit the baseboards right. screw that, weve all wasted weeks babysitting noobs who slow us down to a crawl while clients whine about dust bunnies. if i could go back id stick solo til i found someone who actually gives a damn.

dont hire someone without a trial day first, i rushed it once and they scratched a clients antique table costing me $500 to fix, total nightmare.

first hire's always like teaching a toddler to vacuum without suckin' up the cat. i had one who thought 'spotless' meant leavin' just the big chunks behind, turned a simple living room into a treasure hunt for me. babysittin' is the real job til they get it, but hey, at least you're not solo anymore, right? stick with it or you'll be dustin' your own regrets.

my first helper 'cleaned' the kitchen by rearrangin' the crumbs into smiley faces, figured it was art therapy or some crap.

don't skip a full day of shadowing her on every room before letting her loose, or you'll be fixing her misses for weeks like i did and almost lost a client. clear checklists saved my ass later on.

how long did you give her to learn the backpack vac before jumping in to fix stuff?

been there with my first helper, felt like i was training a kid instead of working. she kept missing the baseboards and clients started complaining after just two days. babysitting eats up all your time and kills the schedule. hang in there, it gets better once they click.

haha, first hire's always like trainin' a puppy that keeps pissing on the carpet. i gave my newbie a checklist on day one, but she still thought dusting meant wavin' the feather duster like a magic wand. now i just let her watch me do the first room, and magically she gets it after seein' where the clients eyeball the most. babysittin' sucks, but think of it as investin' in your future nap time.

ugh, first hires are the WORST, spent my first week with one chasing her around wiping down counters she half-assed and clients bitching about streaks. babysitting a grown ass adult aint what i signed up for in this gig.

first hires are always a damn nightmare, turning what should be quick cleans into endless babysitting BS. these green newbies make you wanna fire em before they even learn the vac right.

stuck with my first helper for a year of babysittin' but now she's runnin' her own crew and pullin' in $50k easy, worth the headache.

first hires are ALWAYS a crapshoot, it's like the universe's way of punishing us for thinking we could scale up without the drama.
