Out here in south Florida, everything's humid as hell and dust bunnies multiply like crazy, so I was doing a demo clean for a new client using my Hoover commercial vac when their toddler grabs the can of Method all-purpose cleaner and starts finger-painting the family cat. Damn near had a $500 vet bill on my hands if it got in the poor thing's eyes, but I snatched it away just in time and talked the mom down from freaking out. Kids, man - never turn your back for a second on a house clean. That could've turned into a nightmare review on Google real quick. Felt like my heart stopped for a minute there. Still shook from it.

toddlers and cleaning supplies - the real dynamic duo nobody asked for. next time keep the method locked up or you'll be the one needing the vet bill for that heart palpitation lol.

kids are a damn liability, had one yank my extension cord right into a puddle last week and nearly fried the whole setup, these parents need to lock em up during demos.

damn homeowners with their wild kids turning every demo into a potential lawsuit crapshoot, makes you wanna lock up all your gear the second you walk in.

pro tip for those demo cleans: keep all your cleaners in a locked tackle box like the Plano 3741, it snaps shut quick and kids cant get at em. i started doing that after a close call with a clients kid dumping comet down the sink, turned the drain into a foamy mess but no harm done. for the cat thing, always have a damp rag handy to wipe off any splashes right away, method's pretty mild but better safe. talk to the parents about pet-safe options upfront, like switching to ecover which is non-toxic even if ingested. and yeah, south florida humidity makes everything stickier, so those quick grabs are crucial. last week i had a toddler chase my dyson with a spray bottle, felt that heart attack vibe too. stick to childproof caps on everything, saves your ass and the review.

had a kid dump my bissell solution all over the couch last week, turned a quick clean into a four hour reupholstery nightmare. parents these days dont watch their damn kids for a second.

been there with the little ones, that one minute of distraction turns into hours of cleanup. feels like parents check their phones more than their kids these days.

Don't ever leave cleaners unattended around pets or kids - had a similar scare with a bottle of Simple Green tipping over near a dog last year, could've been toxic if ingested.

This pisses me off so much, clients act like it's our fault when their own brats cause the mess. We shouldn't have to babysit on top of cleaning, it's bullshit. And then they skimp on the tip after.
