Been using my Hoover commercial vac for years on these house jobs, but with supply costs up, I'm bumping my rate from $35 to $45 per hour starting next month. Customers are gonna hate it, but I can't keep eating the inflation on cleaners and bags. Sucks to have to do this after building a solid client base.

i started quoting flat rates on cleans last year instead of hourly, like $150 for a standard 3br house, and it cut the whining way down since they know the total upfront.

bump it to $50/hr if you're in a decent market, folks here eat it up without flinchin. throw in a quick email explainin the supply hikes and most will stick around, just lost one client over it but gained two at the new rate.

damn right, these homeowners act like we're supposed to eat every single cost increase while they bitch about a $10 bump. i've been in pest control 15 years and it's the same crap: fuel prices up 50%, termidor concentrate jacked another 20% this quarter, and clients still nickel and dime over a $200 service call. angi leads them straight to my door with their 'bargain hunter' bullshit, then they ghost when the quote ain't the cheapest. it's infuriating how they expect us to bend over backwards for pennies while their amazon packages pile up. we're the ones keeping their houses from falling apart, and all we get is complaints. time to start weeding out the cheapskates or we'll all be out of business soon. screw this economy treating trades like we're disposable. who's with me on just saying no to more rate freezes?
