Tried cold outreach on a few older homes yesterday, pitching panel upgrades since everyone's talking about those outdated FPEs. Hit one guy with a $4500 quote for a full Square D replacement and he just laughed and hung up on me. Been doing this for 10 years and these calls are getting nowhere fast.

Man, I feel that. Cold calls for electrical work are brutal, especially when they're not even complaining about flickering lights yet.

Yeah, had a similar call last week. Told em the Square D was code compliant but they still balked at the price. SMH.

Stick to warm leads from r/electricians referrals instead. For panel jobs, I bundle in a free inspection to soften the blow - gets em in the door without the hard sell.

homeowners these days act like $4500 for a square d panel is highway robbery, then call us back when their breakers keep tripping and they're pissed. cold calling's a crapshoot with cheapskates hanging up every time.

those cheap bastards hang up on $4500 quotes but come crawling back when their whole setup's tripping out and they're losing power to the ac in the dead of summer. angi leads are even worse, flooding us with tire-kickers who think a panel swap's like swapping a lightbulb. screw em, i'm sticking to referrals from real clients who get it. why waste breath on folks who wouldnt know nec code 110.14 from a hole in the ground.

dont waste your time on angi leads, i chased one for a panel upgrade last summer and the guy ghosted me after i quoted $4200, ended up with a fire call on a different job that cost him double in emergency fixes.

fuckin homeowners hang up faster than a bad date when you drop a real price like that $4500 square d upgrade. we all know theyd rather diy with youtube and blow the damn house up than pay a pro.

yeah man, its like offering to fix their wiring and they think youre selling timeshares in hell. i once quoted a $3500 homeline swap and the guy yelled back that hed just pray the sparks away. homeowners DIY dreams gonna turn more houses into fireworks shows than any 4th of july. at least when they call back crying, you can upsell the extinguisher too.
