Had a near-miss last week wiring up a new 200A Square D panel, forgot to lock out the main and my Klein voltage tester lit up like a Christmas tree before I touched anything. Charged the homeowner $4500 for the full upgrade but that little device was worth every penny I paid for it. NGL, my heart was pounding.

For real, I dropped a tool once and it hit a live wire, sparked everywhere. Never again without double-checking.

ALWAYS test your tester first, and never assume the power's off.

Screw the homeowners who skimp on safety gear, they deserve what they get.

Insurance companies are the real villains, jacking rates after every claim.

Klein stuff is solid but I swear by Fluke for the big jobs, less false positives.

Fluke's overkill for resi, Klein's fine if you know your shit.

Nah, Fluke saved me on a commercial gig once, worth the extra $100.

Haha, my first close call was with a homemade extension cord, nearly barbecued my hand.

Frustrated with apprentices who don't listen, had one almost do the same last month.

SharkBite fittings for plumbing maybe, but for elec? Stick to proper lugs, no shortcuts.

Try Snap-on testers, but yeah lockout/tagout is non-negotiable every time.

Pissed me off when my foreman skipped it once, almost cost me a finger.

Yeah, but let's not test it too often.

Heard a funny one on r/electricians about a guy who tested on himself, Darwin award almost.

What's your go-to lockout kit brand? Mine's Brady but looking to upgrade.

Don't skimp on PPE, saw a thread in Electrical Contractors FB group about a lawsuit from bad gear.
