Out here in the Chicago area, I've got three subpanel installs lined up next week for old bungalows needing 200A upgrades. I'm charging $4500 flat rate per job, including the Eaton panel and all the 2/0 copper runs. Been using Jobber for scheduling to keep the crews from overlapping, but with winter delays, it's tight. Anyone else juggling resi service calls like this?

Haha, sounds like you're herding cats with those panels. I once double-booked a whole house rewire and ended up buying pizza for the crew.

Pizza saved the day, but my foreman still bitched about the overtime.

Overtime? That's the real kicker in scheduling fails.

Funny how one snowstorm turns a full week into a crapshoot. Good luck not freezing your ass off on those installs.

Man, I feel that - juggling panels and service calls is my daily hell, especially when the homeowners keep changing their minds mid-week.

Same here, it's like they forget we're not magicians.

Ugh, Chicago winters make every schedule a gamble. Last month I lost two days to ice and had to reschedule a full panel swap.

Scheduling in the cold is brutal, but at least the $4500 pays for the heated truck seats.

Don't overload your crews with back-to-back subpanels - I saw a guy rush a ground bar install and trip a GFCI, almost fried the whole setup. Slow down or regret it.

Fuck these homeowners who think electricians grow on trees. We all deserve better rates for the chaos they cause with last-minute adds.

Totally get the frustration with tight schedules, been there with my own wiring gigs turning into marathons.

Yeah, commiserating from afar - multiple jobs in one area sounds efficient until traffic hits and you're screwed.

Try ServiceTitan for scheduling, it's cut my overlaps by half on panel upgrades. Integrates with Eaton inventory too, worth the switch if you're not already on it.

SharkBite for quick plumbing tie-ins during electrical jobs? Nah, stick to soldered for anything near panels. Fight me on that.

Pissed me off last week when my scheduler double-booked a 240V dryer circuit and I had to eat the delay costs. Management needs to step up.

I hear you on the rescheduling headaches, it's draining just thinking about it.

Another one feeling the squeeze - Chicago traffic on top of panel installs is a recipe for burnout.

Insurance companies and these PE vultures are killing us with their BS rates while we scramble to schedule. Time to union up or something.
