Was pulling some old 14/2 romex out of a basement panel upgrade when I nicked a live 240V feeder without testing first. Thought I had it de-energized but the main was still hot from a sneaky bypass. Sparks flew everywhere, singed my Klein linesman pliers but I jumped back in time. Heart was pounding like a drum, SMH at my own stupidity. Saw a similar story on r/electricians last week about a guy who got shocked doing subpanel work. Anyone got tips on double-checking breakers before you start yanking wires? FML, need to be more careful out here.
