Hey folks, I'm a 2nd year apprentice up in north Jersey, zone 5 where the snow makes every job a frozen nightmare, and I'm grinding through my NEC 2023 cert exam prep. Been using the Mike Holt illustrated guide, it's got all the code changes like the new EV charger requirements in 625.42, but man, memorizing those tables for conductor ampacity is kicking my ass after 10-hour days. My boss threw me on a service upgrade last week where we had to bond the main panel per 250.24, and I nearly mixed up the grounding electrode stuff. If you're prepping too, what's your go-to study hack? I dropped $150 on the exam simulator app, but still feel like I'm gonna bomb it. Saw a thread on r/electricians last week with mixed advice, and someone in Electricians Network FB group swore by flashcards for the calculations section. Anyone else dealing with this cert BS in the cold months?
those ampacity tables are a nightmare after freezing my ass off on a job all day, i swear im gonna fail this cert too if i cant cram more before winter hits harder.

zone 5 winters suck for studying, man, i remember freezing my ass off trying to cram ampacity tables after hauling panels all day. that exam simulator's a lifesaver though, just drill it every night before you crash.

bro, in zone 5 winters i prepped by freezing my balls off outside the home depot memorizing ampacity tables, turns out the hypothermia made the numbers stick better than any app 😂
