I've been door-knocking in Pennsylvania, old houses everywhere, trying to drum up some panel upgrade jobs, but damn it's frustrating. Folks hear 'electrical' and slam the door, even when I mention how those 100A Federal Pacific panels are fire hazards waiting to happen. Spent three hours yesterday in a row of 1920s bungalows, only got one callback for a $4500 quote on a Square D QO setup. Watched that Electrician U video on YouTube about better scripts, but the homeowners here just don't get it. Tried leaving flyers with NEC 110.12 notes on arc-fault breakers, still crickets. At this rate, might as well stick to referrals. Anyone got cold outreach tips that actually work for this kinda market?
those pennsylvania homeowners are the WORST, slamming doors like we're selling snake oil instead of saving their damn houses from burning down. cold calling in old neighborhoods is a joke, just another way for cheapskates to waste our time.

Door-knocking? Bro, that's like handing out resumes in a clown suit. Last time I tried it, some lady thought I was selling vacuum cleaners and sicced her chihuahua on me.

Haha, yeah the dogs are the real bosses out there. But seriously, pivot to NextDoor posts instead, way less bitey.

Just laugh it off and keep swinging. Cold outreach sucks everywhere.

Hit $120k last year mostly from cold calls on commercial spots, not residential. Focused on strip malls with outdated 240V setups.

Screw the homeowners who ghost you, they're the worst. Private equity's gobbling up all the good leads anyway, leaving us independents scraping for scraps. Time to union up or get out.
