Finally got my master electrician license after grinding for 15 years, mostly doing residential panel upgrades and EV charger installs. The exam was brutal, had to brush up on all the NEC updates like 210.8 for GFCI requirements. Now I'm quoting bigger jobs without needing a supervisor sign-off, feels like I can finally breathe. If you're chasing this cert, focus on the code book sections for services and feeders - that's what tripped me up last time. Proud as hell, but damn, the paperwork was a nightmare. Anyone else remember their test day war stories?

congrats but man, that paperwork grind never ends, even after the license i spent two weeks chasing signatures for a simple 200A upgrade. test day? mine was a crapshoot, forgot half the feeder rules and barely scraped by.

man the board exams are such BS, they make you jump through hoops just to prove you know the code while inspectors half ass their jobs. cant believe i have to deal with that crap every year for continuing ed.

congrats on the master, now chase those commercial bids to really cash in on it. i hit mine five years back and doubled my take-home by going after strip mall retrofits instead of sticking to houses.

goddamn paperwork for that master license is the real killer, makes you wanna punch the bureaucrats who dreamed it up. took me three tries cuz of their BS fees and endless forms, screw that noise.

man i studied my ass off for that damn exam and still blanked on half the feeders questions, shoulda spent more time on the code book instead of chasing jobs.

dont let that master status go to your head, i knew a guy who rushed jobs after passing and fried a whole panel on a 240v feed last year.

those NEC exams are a total scam, forcing us to memorize every damn update just to prove we're not idiots while the inspectors half-ass their jobs. paperwork's the real killer though, spent weeks chasing signatures that didnt even count towards the experience hours. good on you for pushing through the BS, man.
