Man, managing collections on these jobs is turning into a full-time headache. Had a guy ghost me after I wired up his Tesla charger with 50A breaker and all the conduit runs last month. Sent the invoice through QuickBooks, followed up twice, and nothing. Now I'm stuck deciding whether to file a lien or just eat it and move on. dude, i feel that exact pain, had a customer pull the same crap after i ran 240v to his charger setup and they just vanished on the bill. its like these ev folks think the install is part of the car package or somethin. been chasin mine for weeks now and its killin my motivation to even take on more of these jobs. shoulda got a bigger deposit upfront like the old timers say. homeowners ghostin on legit work is the worst part of this trade. sucks havin to play bill collector on top of wirin shit up right.

tell ya what, next time just slap a 'tesla tax' on the invoice upfront - call it the ghostbusters surcharge for when they vanish after the sparks fly. had one guy swear his ev charger was 'charging his karma' or some bs, but my follow-up call went like 'hey buddy, your karma's about to get zapped with a lien if i don't see that check.' saved me from eating a $800 hit last year. works better than any electrician u script for these eco-warrior deadbeats 😂

start the call with 'hey, just confirming you got my quickbooks invoice for the 50a tesla setup - got any issues with the work or need a payment plan to knock this out?' it cuts the bs and gets 'em talking without sounding like a debt collector.
