Taxes are screwing my small electrical shop this year, been dumping hours into QuickBooks Online just to track wire runs and panel upgrades. Switched from the desktop version last month thinking it'd save time on invoicing 240V jobs, but now I'm staring at $800 in unexpected fees for the premium features I need to log my Eaton breakers properly. Watched an Electrician U video that made it seem easier, but man, it's a crap-show trying to deduct tool costs without messing up the reports.

screw quickbooks online, it's a money pit designed to bleed us dry on fees while we track romex and breakers. ditch it for freshbooks and tell the irs to shove their deductions, imo.

ditch the premium quickbooks crap and try gnucash for free, it'll handle your eaton breaker logs without the $800 hit. been using it for years on my side gigs and exports clean to tax software.

ditch the premium tier and use the reports export to excel for tracking those eaton breakers, saves me $400 a year. set up categories for wire runs and tool deductions upfront so quickbooks online doesnt screw the reports.
