I'm up in north jersey, doing mostly residential flooring installs, and just got hit with a $4500 claim on a Mohawk luxury vinyl plank job because the homeowner says it cupped after install. We followed all the acclimation guidelines, used the proper underlayment, and even had the subfloor tested for moisture, but now their lawyer's breathing down my neck about liability. My insurance premium shot up 20% last year already, and this crap is gonna kill me if it sticks. Saw a similar rant in the Flooring Contractors Network group, but nobody had solid advice on how to fight these without a lawyer. Been in the game 18 years, and this is the worst part of the business. FML.

moisture testing is key, did you use a calcium chloride kit?

mohawk's got good reps, but claims like this hurt the brand too.
