Man, I was knee-deep in this vinyl plank job, using my Festool track saw to cut the LVP planks, and the damn thing kicked back on me while I was trimming a tricky angle around a doorway. Shoulda double-checked the blade tension, but I was rushing to finish before the homeowner got back from work. Nearly took a chunk out of my hand, and the plank splintered bad enough I had to redo the whole section. Saw a similar story on r/Flooring last week about a guy who ignored his safety gear and ended up in the ER. Someone in the Flooring Contractors Network group mentioned watching a Tile Tutorials video on proper tool handling, which I guess I need to revisit. These near-misses are piling up, and it's got me pissed at how one slip can turn a good day into a crap-show. FML, gonna invest in better clamps next time.

homeowners never get how close we come to disaster on these jobs.

festool is solid but kickback happens if you're sloppy, wear the damn gloves.

gloves saved my ass more than once on lvp cuts.

controversial take: festool is overrated for flooring, stick to milwaukee.

try the dewalt laser guide, helps with angles without forcing the saw.
