Had a job last week installing Coretec LVP in a whole house reno, spent two days laying it out to avoid that staggered stair-step look everyone hates. Client comes in day three and says it looks too repetitive, wants me to rip it up and redo even though we walked the pattern before starting. I'm using my Festool track saw to cut everything precise, but now they're acting like I botched it on purpose. Saw a similar rant in the Flooring Contractors Network group last month, guys saying these picky homeowners kill the vibe. NGL, I'm tempted to just walk but need the ref. Anyone got tips for dealing with this crap without losing your cool?

Show them the install video from that one YouTube channel, Tile Tutorials, explains how random patterns work in LVP.

Good call, that vid saved my ass on a job once. Client watched it and chilled right out.

Tried that, still had to redo three rooms. Waste of time.

Man, that sucks. Been there with vinyl plank, feels like you're damned if you do.

These clients think they're designers now, watched some TikTok and suddenly experts. Pisses me off every time.

Same here, just finished a herringbone tile job and the wife changed her mind mid-way. Solidary, brother.

FML, had a guy demand perfect matching on cheap laminate, ended up firing him as a client. Not worth the headache.

Hey, what brand of LVP was it? Sometimes the pattern repeat is the real issue, not your layout.

SharkBite for plumbing, but for flooring? Nah, stick to your guns on LVP patterns, it's industry standard to have some repetition.

Document everything with photos before and during, then pull the 'as agreed' card. Works 90% of the time, and if not, small claims is your friend.

Yeah, and reference the manufacturer's guidelines, Coretec has specs on acceptable patterns.
