Had a close call on a vinyl plank install with Mohawk's SolidTech Plus line, charged the guy $4500 flat for the whole house. Forgot to let the boxes acclimate for 48 hours and the planks started cupping up in the afternoon heat during demo. Pulled everything up quick and rescheduled, but damn that could've been a nightmare claim. PSA to all you installers out there, always acclimate your LVP no matter what.

fuckin homeowners think they know better, always rushing the job. this is why we lose money on callbacks.
A

4
exactly, they pay for cheap labor then complain about quality. it's BS.
S
SparkPlugger⭐ Expert9mo
4
yep, had a similar rush job turn into a free redo. never again.

same, my back still hurts from that one time I didn't check moisture levels.

ugh, acclimation is key. skipped it once and the floor buckled. lesson learned the hard way.

SharkBite fittings are for plumbers, not flooring pros. acclimation ain't optional, fight me if you disagree.
G
GarageGateGuy⭐ Expert8mo
5
nah man, in flooring it's non-negotiable. vinyl expands like crazy without it.
S
SparkFreak⭐ Expert8mo
5
double check your subfloor moisture every time, use a Tramex meter if you can afford it. saved me on the last three jobs.

good call, I use the Wagner one. under $200 and worth every penny.

don't ever trust a spec sheet alone, test the environment first. had a job where humidity spiked overnight.

solid advice, always do a small test lay before committing.
