Just wrapped up subbing a 2,000 sq ft luxury vinyl plank install to a guy I know from the Flooring Contractors Network group. We're in north Jersey, zone 5 winters mean we gotta use Coretec Plus for that good click-lock system to handle the expansion. Charged the homeowner $12k total, paid the sub $4k for his crew and materials, pocketed the rest without breaking a sweat. Been doing this solo for years but subcontracting lets me take on bigger gigs without the backache. Saw a similar setup on r/Flooring where someone bragged about their margins, figured I'd try it. Tommy Mello talks about scaling like this on his Insta, and damn if it ain't working. Proud as hell, finally hit six figures this year off jobs like this.

Customer called at 8pm asking why the sub's truck was there, explained it and she was cool.

Tried subbing a Coretec job last month, guy botched the transitions and I had to fix it myself.

Insurance companies HATE when you sub out, premiums go up if they smell risk.

Big corps are squeezing us all, time to union up or something.

Subcontracting epoxy floors is a nightmare, always some spill drama.

My sub flaked on a vinyl job, lost the whole contract.

Big insurance screwing over small ops like us, it's BS.

Lol, yeah zone 5 means acclimating that LVP for a week or it buckles.
