Hey all, been running my epoxy flooring side hustle out of north jersey for about 5 years now, and just closed a $15k commercial job at a strip mall thanks to a solid referral from a GC buddy. Watched this YouTube vid where the guy spills the real truth on starting an epoxy flooring business, and man it hit home on how referrals beat cold calling every time for landing those bigger commercial clients. He talked about networking with property managers and offering a 10% kickback on referrals, which is what I did here with Core & Main supplies for the epoxy kits. Set up a simple program where I give $500 gift cards to referrers after the job's done and paid, keeps the pipeline flowing without eating into profits too bad. Anyone else using something like that for commercial work? Saw a similar thread in the Flooring Contractors Network group last week.

track referrals in quickbooks and tag them by source, makes it easy to see what's working for commercial leads.

NGL, commercial flooring referrals are hit or miss but when they land it's worth it.

offer tiered rewards based on job size, like 5% under 10k, 10% over.
