Alright folks, been laying floors for about 8 years now and thought I had the basics down, but man, I got bit hard on a job last month. Customer had this old concrete slab that looked dry enough, but I skipped the full calcium chloride test because the meter read okay. Turns out there was enough moisture trapped to wreck the entire 1,200 sq ft of Coretec LVP within weeks - bubbling up like crazy. Now I'm out the materials and labor, and the client's pissed. Moral of the story: always do the proper test kit thing, even if the quick digital says go. Don't be like me and assume. If you're new to this, invest in a good Tramex meter or something reliable to avoid this crap-show.

damn, that sucks, i had a similar mess on a basement job last year where the calcium chloride test came back high but the homeowner swore it was fine after their reno. now i'm double-checking every damn slab with the tramex even on quick gigs, and it cost me $2k in rework last time. clients always think they know better till the floor bubbles. should've taped those plastic sheets down for the full 72 hours, would've saved your ass.

dude, skipping that calcium chloride test is like installing a shower without waterproofing - next thing you know, everything's a soggy disaster and you're the one mopping up the mess.

those damn homeowners always want it cheap and fast, actin like moisture tests are optional BS while we're the ones eatin the loss when their slab turns the job into a total disaster.

Damn, that sucks. I always tell my guys to double-check with the kit no matter what the cheap meter says, but half the time they rush it anyway.

It's the same BS everywhere in this industry. Homeowners want it fast and cheap, then blame us when it fails. We gotta start charging for the testing upfront or we'll keep eating these losses. Collective rage against the rush jobs that screw everyone.
