I'm trying cold outreach for my flooring biz in rural Ohio, hitting up homeowners with flyers about LVP installs starting at $2500 for a 500 sq ft room. But most folks just take the quote and ghost me, no follow-up calls or anything. Any scripts or door-knock tips that actually land the job without coming off pushy?

man, the ghosting after quotes is the WORST in rural spots like ohio, feels like youre just feeding the birds with those flyers half the time.

don't chase those ghosts with follow-ups, it'll just piss off the folks who were on the fence and kill your rep in a small town like rural ohio. i saw a guy last year hounding quotes and ended up with a bad review that tanked his whole season. stick to one solid pitch on the flyer and let the serious ones come to you. pushy never lands jobs out here.

don't drop flyers in rural ohio without a local face attached, i saw a guy waste months on that and get blacklisted by word of mouth. folks out there smell pushy sales from a mile away and ghost you faster than a bad check. stick to door knocks with a quick demo sample in hand, or you'll just be the next punchline at the feed store. trust me, i've cleaned up enough of those messes.

don't chase those ghosted quotes with follow-up calls in rural ohio, had a guy show up pissed at my door once thinkin i was stalkin him and nearly called the cops.

try asking 'what's holding you back on that $2500 LVP quote?' right after they say yes to the price, it opens the door without pushin too hard and usually gets 'em talkin about their real concerns.

switched to door-knocking with a quick 'hey, i just finished a lvp job down the road and saved the neighbor $500 on materials, want me to swing by for a free measure?' and closed three $4k installs last month in rural spots just like yours.

same here man, rural spots are tough with folks hoarding cash for tractors or whatever.

print bigger flyers with before/after pics of your LVP work. that visual sells itself.

proud of you for pushing $2500, that's solid pricing for quality LVP. i bumped mine to $2800 last month and bookings doubled.

controversial take: skip flyers, cold call from google business listings. way higher conversion, even if a few hang up pissed.

warning: don't quote over phone without site visit. had a rural ohio job where the floor was uneven as hell, added $800 unexpected.

been ghosted too many times out here, now i require a $200 deposit on quotes to weed out the tire-kickers.

deposits are for chumps who dont get that rural folks just LOVE shopping around for the lowest bid on that 1200 sq ft LVP job. i started quoting 10% higher from the jump and telling em 'take it or leave it, i aint chasing ghosts for a $2500 install.' homeowners out here act like theyre doing YOU a favor by wasting your saturday measuring their shotgun shack. hell, last week i walked away from a tire-kicker who haggled me down to $2200 then vanished, so now i just filter hard and sleep better. fight me if you think refunds on deposits build trust, they just invite more BS.

those rural cheapskates haggling you to the bone then ghosting are the WORST, brother, makes me wanna start charging a $500 no-show fee just to watch em squirm.
