Man, lead gen for flooring jobs has been brutal lately, especially with all these homeowners thinking they can DIY their luxury vinyl plank installs. I've been dumping cash into Google Ads targeting 'LVP flooring Chicago' but the clicks ain't turning into quotes. Out here in the Chicago area, the old houses got me doing a ton of subfloor prep just to get the job, but without steady leads, I'm barely booking two installs a week. Tried door hangers at a recent home show, but they mostly called asking about carpet removal costs instead. Anyone got tips on what works for getting real flooring clients without blowing my budget? Feels like everyone's on Angi now, but those leads cost an arm and a leg.

screw angi, those leads are mostly tire kickers who ghost you after wasting your time quoting subfloor work on chicago's creaky old houses. i'd rather hit up nextdoor groups and post pics of my last LVP install with shaw resilient planks, gets real homeowners calling without the BS fees. google ads are fine but target 'professional LVP installer chicago' instead of broad crap, or you'll just keep burning cash on diyers. fight me if you think angi's worth it, man.

what kinda budget you running on those google ads? tried tweaking the keywords to hit chicago neighborhoods with older homes more directly?

steer clear of angi leads, man - i got burned last year in chicago chasing one that turned out to be a flipper trying to haggle down to nothing. costs way too much for the crap quality you'll get out here with all the picky old house owners.

ditch the google ads for a bit and hit up local seo hard, claim your google business profile and optimize it with pics of those chicago subfloor jobs you've been fixing. i've seen guys double their calls just by getting reviews from happy lvp installs, aim for 20-30 solid ones to push you up in the local pack. angi's a money pit, yeah, but try nextdoor instead, post before-and-afters there and watch the neighborhood referrals roll in without the high fees. for door hangers, target the bungalow blocks in the burbs and mention free subfloor assessments to hook em on the prep work. partnering with realtors for flip houses has saved my ass on steady work too, got three leads last month that turned into full installs. keep at it, man, chicago's market is tough but consistent networking beats ads every time.

angi's a total scam, man, i dropped 500 bucks on leads last month and half of em were fake numbers or folks who already hired someone else.
