So I'm knee-deep in this bamboo floor install, using Mohawk Strand because it clicks together nice and holds up well, when the customer's labrador comes barreling in and starts gnawing on a loose plank I set aside. I yell for the guy to grab the dog, but it's too late - the plank's got teeth marks all over, and now I've gotta cut a new one from the extra. Turns out the dog thought it was a chew toy since it smelled like fresh wood. Had to laugh it off with the client, but man, that added 45 minutes to the job and I was sweatin' about matching the grain. Lesson learned: always close doors or get pets crated before starting. Anyone else got animal sabotage stories? NGL, it made for a good laugh later with the crew.

next time stash those extra planks in your truck or cover em with a heavy drop cloth, saved my ass on a similar job with a chihuahua going after the oak scraps.

had a customer's cat shred my drop cloths during a pest job last week, total pain in the ass. you end up charging extra for that kinda delay? or just eat it to keep the client happy?

had a similar mess with a customer's pit bull chomping my Kreg jig bits during a cabinet install, but i turned it around by billing an extra hour for the delay and scoring a referral from the guy after. made my day feel like a win, even with the chewed up tools. now i always charge a pet surcharge on bigger jobs to cover that kinda crap. keeps the pride in the pay.

never leave loose planks out when pets are around - had a job where a cat pissed on my oak boards and the whole batch swelled up, cost me $200 in replacements.
