Man, what a day out here in Phoenix, zone 3, and the temps are pushing 110 already by 10am, made installing this LiftMaster opener feel like hell. Started with a routine torsion spring job on a 16x8 insulated steel door, but the damn thing had been converted from extensions about 10 years back, and one of the 2-inch OD x 1.75-inch ID x 28-inch right-hand wound springs snapped on me mid-wind. Customer's pissed, doesn't wanna shell out the extra $300 to replace both like best practice says, even though I explained the imbalance could wreck the whole setup. Spent the afternoon arguing safety while sweating balls, then topped it off with a bent track on a commercial roll-up that added two hours of cussing. NGL, some days make me wanna chuck the winding bars and call it quits. Anyone else got these stubborn homeowners fighting every upsell? FML.

Same boat here, bro, those one-spring guys always come back crying when the door jumps the track.

Yup, had one last month, cost him double in the end.

Screw the PE firms buying up shops, now everyone's nickel-and-diming like we work for free.

PE is ruining the game, forcing us to cut corners or go broke.

Frustrated as hell with these conversions, always some hack job from the last guy leaving me to fix the mess.

Walked into a nightmare last week, springs mismatched and door half off the rails.

Had a customer today who thought $150 covered a full opener swap, laughed in his face and left.

These folks watch one YouTube vid and think they're experts, SMH.

LOL, remind me of the time I had a guy insist on DIY springs, showed up next day with a busted garage and his truck dented.

Insurance companies are the real villains, jacking rates while denying claims on every little thing.

Dealing with bent tracks in this heat sucks, my back's killing me after three today.

These Arizona jobs are brutal, no shade and the panels get so hot you can't touch em without gloves.

Felt that, zone 3 sun cooks you faster than a bad spring winds.

Insurance is a joke, paid $2k last year for coverage that wouldn't even touch a spring claim.

SharkBite style quick fixes? Nah, for garage doors it's always full replacement or bust, half-measures bite back.

Best practice is law in my book, but these customers treat it like optional.

Commercial roll-ups are the worst, always in tight spots with no room to maneuver.

Replace both or walk away, I've got a waiver now for the idiots who refuse.

LiftMaster conversions are solid but pricey, customers balk at the $800 total every time.

Saw a post in Garage Door Installers group about a similar fight, guy ended up liable when it failed.

Don't half-ass springs, seen doors fly off and hospitalize folks, not worth the risk.
