man, today was one of those days that makes you question why you got into this garage door business. started off with a call at 7am for a liftmaster opener thats beeping like crazy, turns out the safety sensors are misaligned from some kid kicking a ball into them. then i spent two hours fighting with a rusted torsion spring on an old clopay door in a tight garage, almost pinched my finger bad. lunch? forgot it while chasing parts from the supply house. afternoon was three service calls where homeowners think they can diy the tracks with youtube but end up warping everything. by 6pm im beat, back screaming from all the ladder work. anyone else have these endless days or is it just me? saw a similar rant in the garage door installers facebook group last week.

whats your go-to for loosening those rusted springs without wrecking your knuckles?

pb blaster and a good breaker bar, but sometimes you just gotta heat it up a bit.

heat works wonders, but watch the fumes in enclosed spaces.

winding torsion springs all day kills the soul, take breaks when you can.

customer thought wedging the door with a 2x4 would fix the sag, nope, total mess.

align those sensors with a level every time, prevents half the callbacks.

running a small crew now, but solo days were pure exhaustion like you described.

use a windlass tool for springs, way safer than manual cranking.

ladder pinches suck, wrap your fingers for protection next time.
