Scheduling Garage Door Installs with a Crew That's Always Late

Man, managing these employees for garage door jobs is turning into a total crap-show. I've got a three-man crew that can't seem to show up on time for installs, especially when we're dealing with heavy Clopay sectional doors that need precise alignment from the start. Last week we had back-to-back jobs, one a residential replacement with torsion springs, and they dragged their feet on the opener wiring, pushing everything an hour behind. I tried using Jobber for scheduling routes, but half the time they ignore the app notifications and show up whenever. It's pissing off customers who expect a full day of work, not excuses. Watched a video from Project Farm on better time management tools, might need to invest in some GPS trackers for the vans. Anyone else dealing with this?

my crew shows up late so often i just started billing them for the coffee runs they take on my dime. next time try chaining the van to a tree till they get their act together 😂

damn, my crew pulls the same crap on clopay installs, showing up late and botching the torsion spring setup, makes me wanna fire the whole lot every time.

those damn crews think they're garage door gods but can't even show up on time without turning a simple clopay job into a total clusterfuck, makes you wanna burn the whole operation down.

don't ignore the late crew problem too long, or you'll lose jobs to competitors who actually show up on time. i saw a guy get hit with a mechanics lien on his own house after customers sued over the delays, total nightmare. ditch jobber if they're not using it and switch to housecall pro for better dispatching enforcement.

scheduling is for chumps, just fire the lazy ones and train apprentices on Clopay installs yourself. fight me if you think micromanaging works.

nah, that's a recipe for even more delays. train 'em right or regret it.

PSA: never trust your crew without backup plans for delays on spring adjustments. had a torsion snap once because we rushed, nearly took out a guy.

try incentives, like bonuses for on-time finishes. worked wonders for my wiring runs.

goddamn crews are the WORST, always dragging their asses on those spring jobs and leaving me to eat the pissed-off customer calls. if i had a nickel for every time they've screwed the schedule, i'd be retired already.

picture this: crew shows up late, customer offers beer instead of complaining. turned a bad day into a party, lol.

get 'em on a strict route with Housecall Pro, set penalties for tardiness. cut my delays in half on commercial installs.

warning: loose scheduling led to a bent track on a big Clopay job last month. inspect everything twice before leaving the shop.

totally get the crew headache, especially with heavy doors. hang in there.
