Man, quoting these landscape jobs has me pulling my hair out lately. Spent half the morning measuring a backyard for sod install and the customer keeps adding stuff like 'oh yeah, throw in some edging too.' I'm using Jobber for my estimates but it still feels like I'm guessing half the time on how long the crew will take with the Toro mowers. Last week I underquoted a simple trimming job and ate two hours of labor. Feel like I'm always chasing my tail trying to get the numbers right without lowballing myself. Anyone got tips for nailing these without the headache?

god i hate quoting anything with plants, they die and then you're the bad guy.

exactly, customers blame you for their crappy soil.

underquoting is the fastest way to go broke in this biz, learn it the hard way.

same here, estimating irrigation lines is a nightmare.

irrigation? try quoting fence installs, posts shift and boom.

fences are bs, always hidden damage underground.

switched to flat rates for basic cleanups, no more guessing.
F

flat rates? how do you not lose on big yards?
F
FrostBiteFixer⚒️ Journeyman5mo

big yards need t&m clause built in.
