man, i'm two years into running my own general contracting gig and every day feels like a crapshoot. started the morning hauling my DeWalt tools to a small kitchen remodel in suburban maryland, only to find the homeowner changed their mind on the granite countertops halfway through demo. spent the afternoon arguing with the electrician sub over NEC code 210.8 for the GFCI outlets, and by evening i was patching drywall with my Milwaukee M18 drill running low on battery. out here in suburban maryland, the old houses throw curveballs like unpermitted additions that we gotta fix on the fly. saw a similar rant on r/Contractor about dealing with indecisive clients, and yeah, it hits home. anyone else feel like you're herding cats instead of building? tbh, some days i question if i should stick with it.

we're in the same boat, insurance rates killing small ops like ours.
