I'm up in Minnesota and been running a solo general handyman outfit for 8 years, but tracking jobs across repairs, installs, and small remodels is turning into a total crap-show without decent software. I've tried Housecall Pro and it works okay for scheduling basic stuff like drywall patches or fixture swaps, but the estimating templates are garbage for custom quotes on things like custom shelving or fence repairs, and I end up wasting hours tweaking spreadsheets. Watched a Home RenoVision DIY video last week that made me think I need something better for client follow-ups, but every option seems to nickel and dime you with add-ons. The rage is real when a $500 job falls through because I couldn't send a proper proposal fast enough. Anyone else dealing with this in the handyman world, or am I just too stubborn to commit? FML.

man, housecall pro's estimating templates are a total nightmare, i've lost more jobs than i can count fiddling with that crap. been there with the solo handyman grind, it sucks when a quick proposal could've sealed the deal.

housecall pro's bullshit add-ons turned my quick quotes into a damn novel, lost three jobs last month cuz i couldnt hit send before the customer bailed.

Housecall Pro is overrated BS, stick with Joist for quick estimates on general jobs like yours, it's cheaper and doesn't lock you into their ecosystem like some cult.
