Been using QuickBooks for years to track my gutter installs, but last week I somehow double-billed a client for a $450 Leafguard job and didn't catch it til they called pissed. Had to eat the fee and apologize like crazy, total embarrassment after 10 years in this. Anyone got tips to avoid this crap without switching to something pricier like FreshBooks?

Set up invoice templates in QuickBooks with auto-checks for duplicates, saved my ass on a big deck project last month.

Yeah but those templates still glitch sometimes.

Nah, just run a daily report on new invoices.

Dude, same here with wiring gigs, bookkeeping software is a nightmare.

Switch to Xero if QuickBooks keeps screwing you, it's way better for small ops like ours.

quickbooks is a damn nightmare, always overcomplicating shit and costing us real money on jobs like those leafguard installs. screw em, xero all the way before they bleed us dry.

How do you handle the tax side with that mess? I use an accountant now to avoid fines.

What exactly triggered the double bill? Was it a sync error with your payment processor?
