I've been subcontracting out general handyman jobs like fence repairs and drywall patches for a couple years now, and man it's wearing me down. The 1099 forms alone are a nightmare to track, especially when clients drag their feet on payments. Just last week I had to chase down a sub over QuickBooks Online invoices that didn't sync right, wasted half a day fixing it. Saw a video from Essential Craftsman on streamlining subs, but it didn't cover the invoicing BS. Anyone else dealing with this crap? Feels like I'm spending more time on admin than actual work. TBH, thinking of going solo again just to avoid the hassle.

man, the 1099 paperwork grind is a total soul-sucker, i feel you on that. spent way too many late nights chasing subs who ghost on invoices, its why i cut back to just two reliable guys last year.

those damn 1099s and quickbooks glitches are straight-up sabotage by the irs and these half-assed software companies, burying us trades guys under admin crap just to keep the man in power.

dude, the 1099 tracking is straight up killing me too, feels like im doing more paperwork than flooring installs these days. last month i chased a sub for weeks over a messed up quickbooks sync and nearly lost my mind.

man, the paperwork grind is killing me too, especially when payments drag on and you're left chasing 1099 ghosts. been there with quickbooks screwing up syncs, makes you wanna chuck it all and go solo again.

switch to jobber for invoicing if you havent already, it syncs way better with subs and cuts the bs time in half. i used to chase 1099s like you, but setting up auto-reminders there meant i only spent an hour a week on it instead of days. for the payments dragging, slap a 1.5% late fee on your contracts right from the start, keeps em honest without much fightback. quickbooks online is fine for solo stuff but sucks with multiple subs, trust me. also, get a simple spreadsheet template for tracking forms, google sheets works great and exports to pdf easy. if clients still foot drag, small claims court is your friend for anything under 5k, got paid twice that way last year. dont go solo yet, theres tricks to make this manageable. hang in there, the admin load lightens up once you dial it in.

man i feel that, been chasin 1099's for weeks now and its killin my vibe. clients draggin their feet on payments is the worst, had one stiff me for 800 bucks last month and still no word. paperwork's takin over everything, cant even remember the last time i swung a hammer without stressin. tbh, solo sounds temptin just to ditch this bs.

Screw these big GCs who treat subs like disposable trash, always changing scope mid-job and expecting you to eat the costs.

Yeah, been there too many times. Last sub gig I did, they ghosted me on final payment for three months. Stick to smaller jobs where you can control the terms.
