Alright, rant time, this crap happened again last week. Had one of my guys out fixing a wobbly deck railing with some new Trex boards and Simpson Strong-Tie brackets, quality work like always. Customer starts yapping about how the last handyman charged them double for less, trying to haggle my rate down on the spot. I get it, empathize with the BS they dealt with before, but I stick to my pricing and let the solid build speak for itself. It's frustrating hearing that rip-off story mid-job, but I don't let it mess with how we do things. Down the line, they always notice the difference and come back. Anyone else dealing with this in managing your crew? Saw a similar vent in Handyman Nation group the other day.

Screw these cheapskates who think handyman work is free labor, we all get burned too often chasing payments after busting our asses on decks and fences. Time to union up or something, this industry's a joke.

Man, last month I had a guy ghost me after a full garage organization job with Rubbermaid shelves and pegboards. Sent three invoices, called nonstop, finally had to eat the loss. Pisses me off every time.

Nah, go aggressive on those. I file small claims right away if they dodge past 30 days, had to do it twice this year on fence installs and won both times. Don't let em walk, make an example.
