Had one of those days where I was putting up a heavy DeWalt garage shelf system, and the damn thing kept wobbling til I got it bolted in right. Charged $250 flat for the install since it took two hours of swearing and measuring, but man, the client's garage was a disaster zone. Feels good to get it done, but my back is screaming tonight.

Sounds like every monday for me, except with ductwork instead of shelves. 😂

Haha, at least ducts don't tip over on you mid-install.

Watch out for those cheap anchor bolts, they can pull right out of cinder block.

DeWalt makes solid stuff, but always double-check the level. I use a Bosch laser for that.

Bosch is clutch, saved me from a crooked install last week.

Don't skip the shims if the floor's uneven, or it'll sag in a year.

This. Had a client call back pissed after six months, cost me $100 to fix.

Damn clients always want it cheap and fast, then complain about the wobble.

You charging $250? That's low, I get $350 for garage jobs around here.

Insurance nightmare if it falls on their car. Get it in writing they approved the setup.

Corporate overlords ruining everything, even handyman gigs with their PE buyouts.

Same, been doing this 10 years and every install feels like a battle.

Add some plywood backing for extra stability, works every time.

Screw the big box stores, their shelves are junk without mods.

PE firms snapping up local handymen left and right, no more small ops like us.

Frustrated as hell with these know-it-all clients second-guessing every bolt.

SharkBite for plumbing sure, but for shelves? Nah, stick to lag screws. Fight me.

Try ratchet straps during install to hold it steady while you drill.
