I've been hitting up real estate agents and property managers for handyman gigs like patching drywall or installing those damn Nest thermostats, but out here in the greater Atlanta area, they all ghost you after the first email. We're talking zero callbacks from 50 outreaches last month, even when I mention my go-to tools like the DeWalt cordless drill and Ryobi nail gun setup. Saw a post in the Handyman Nation Facebook group where a guy swore by personalized scripts, but mine are as tailored as it gets and still nothing. TBH, I'd rather just wait for referrals from past deck repairs or fence fixes than chase these leads. Anyone else finding cold outreach dead for odd jobs like this?

feels like everyone's got their buddy with a truck for cheap labor these days. cold calls just bounce off.

yep, exactly. my truck's all wrapped and professional but nope, they call the neighbor.

ghosting is the norm in atlanta too, tried emailing hoa boards for fence repairs and crickets.

ugh, i feel that. wasted gas driving to meet agents for lock installs, then nada.

switch to linkedin for property managers, worked for me on a few cabinet installs last quarter. add value by sharing quick tips on maintenance.

screw these gatekeepers, they're all in bed with the big contractors now. time to undercut them or go direct to homeowners via nextdoor.

it's all rigged against us small handymen, these platforms and agents favor the franchises that pay for leads.
