hey folks, im just starting out as a handyman doing odds and ends like hanging shelves and fixing leaky faucets. had this one client last week who wanted a basic drywall patch in the kitchen but then decided she wanted it textured to match the rest, then changed to painting it too, all while im there with my DeWalt tools half unpacked. its frustrating because i dont wanna seem pushy but it eats up my time. saw a similar rant in the Handyman Nation facebook group but no real advice. anyone got tips on setting boundaries without losing the job? watched that scott brown carpenter video on client management but it was more about big projects. tbh i feel like an idiot for not having a contract clause for this. help a guy out.

goddamn clients like that are the worst, they think we're their personal genies. always try to nickel and dime the changes after you've started.

change orders should be mandatory from day one.

use a simple addendum form for changes, sign it on site.
