Man, running my handyman side gig out of north jersey has been a grind, especially with all these small fixes like installing Nest thermostats and patching drywall for homeowners. I'm pulling in about $80k a year but my QuickBooks setup is a disaster, I keep forgetting to log every little $150 job for cabinet refinishing or whatever. Saw a thread on r/handyman about using FreshBooks instead, but switching seems like more hassle than it's worth. In the Handyman Nation FB group, some guy swore by hiring a bookkeeper for $300/month, but that eats into my margins on these quick gigs. NGL, I feel like I'm one bad audit away from losing it all. Anyone else in the same boat with tracking receipts from Home Depot runs?
