Look, I've been doing handyman work for over a decade, fixing everything from leaky faucets to hanging shelves, and upselling feels like the only way to keep the lights on sometimes. You show up for a quick drywall patch, and bam, the whole wall needs retexturing with that Benjamin Moore Advance paint to match right. Or you're installing a new door hinge and spot the frame's warped - why not offer to square it up with a Festool Domino for that perfect fit? Some guys in Handyman Nation group call it scammy, but TBH it's just pointing out what they should've seen themselves. Watched a Tommy Mello video where he breaks down how to frame it as value-add without being pushy. NGL, it rubs me the wrong way half the time, but clients thank you later. Fight me if you think it's all BS. Edit: saw a similar thread on r/handyman last week with mixed takes.
