Newbie here, was mounting some shelves with my DeWalt drill yesterday and the ladder shifted on me, nearly dropped a $200 Ryobi light kit right on the client's head. heart was pounding like crazy, but i caught it just in time. FML, gotta double-check those ladder feet next time.

hell, i once dropped a whole box of lag screws on my own foot, thought i'd be limpin for weeks. good thing you snagged that light kit, clients get pissy over dings in their noggins.

homeowners never give us enough space to work safe, its like theyre trying to get themselves killed just to screw over our insurance.

always kick the legs out to test for shift before climbing, saved my ass more than once. if it's slick flooring, throw a towel or rubber mat under the feet for extra grip. dewalts solid but that ladder wobble'll get ya every time.

ladders kill more guys than you'd think, so ALWAYS block the feet with shims or plywood under em before climbing. i saw a buddy go down hard last year and he's still in PT.

Always wedge a 2x4 under the ladder feet on uneven floors, saved me from a few slips over the years.
