Man, subcontracting these interior handyman jobs is starting to feel like a crapshoot every time. Last week I got called in to patch some drywall and install a couple of ceiling fans in this older place, but the homeowner decided midway they wanted the whole layout changed, which meant ripping out the old wiring and starting over with 14/2 romex. I watched a video from Essential Craftsman on proper fan bracing the night before, but dealing with their constant changes just ate up the whole schedule. Then the GC who hired me ghosts me on payment because 'the client wasn't happy,' even though I delivered solid work with SharkBite fittings for the quick plumbing tie-in. It's frustrating when you're out there busting your ass on these odds and ends, only to get screwed on the backend. Anyone else dealing with subs turning into nightmares like this? Feels like I should just go solo and cut out the middleman.

goddamn subs are the worst, had one flake on a full kitchen reno and left me holding the bag with pissed off clients yelling about delays. i ended up eating the cost to finish it myself just to keep my rep intact.
