Had this one client in Houston who kept changing her mind on the deck repair job, first wanted new cedar boards then switched to composite, made me redo the quote twice. Ended up charging $1200 flat for the whole thing including labor and materials, but she nitpicked every nail placement during install. NGL, it was a headache but I got a good review out of it in the end.

sounds like she was auditioning you for husband of the year, one nitpick at a time. i had a deck job where the lady insisted on 'vintage' screws, ended up sourcing them from some antique shop and charging her double for the headache. ended up with a 5-star review too, go figure. guess us trades guys are suckers for that validation lol.

sounds like she was auditioning for project manager on that deck, huh? i once had a lady who measured every board with her own tape before i'd even swing the hammer. ended up quoting her the fun price just to watch her eyes bug out. worth the $1200 if it came with free entertainment.

man, those nitpicky clients in houston make me wanna pull my hair out, especially with the humidity warping everything twice as fast. had one last summer who switched from pressure treated to trex mid-job and haggled over every damn screw like it was gold. shoulda charged an extra $500 for the headache, tbh.

man, those indecisive clients in houston make every job a crapshoot, but at least you scored the good review outta it.

Man, those flip-flopping clients drive me nuts, had one last month who did the same crap on a fence job and I lost two days rescheduling my crew.
