Been hitting the neighborhoods door to door offering free inspections for wobbly decks and sagging railings, tying it to my Kreg pocket hole jig for quick fixes. Last week I quoted a full rebuild at $1500 using cedar 2x6s and the client said it'd have to be at least $1200 to even consider it. Watched a Home RenoVision DIY video on outreach scripts that got me thinking about adding a quick demo with my DeWalt cordless drill to close more deals. Anyone got better lines for when they push back on the price?

man, $1500 quotes on door knocks always get that same pushback, like they think were made of money or somethin.

man, i feel that pushback every time i knock on doors with deck quotes, they always wanna haggle down to bare bones like $1200's the gold standard.

goddamn homeowners always lowballing like they think we're made of money, had one yesterday haggle my $1200 joist replacement down to $900 and walk away smug. its infuriating how they watch a couple youtube vids and suddenly they're experts on our costs.

ditch the demo and hit em with 'look, for $1500 i'm saving you a $3000 insurance nightmare when that railing gives way' - works way better than drilling holes on their porch. i've closed three decks this month just by painting the picture of the lawsuit they almost dodged. try tying it to last year's codes too, folks remember that stuff.

door knocking like that'll get you slapped with a cease and desist from the local HOA or worse, had a buddy lose a $5k deck job when the client reported him for unlicensed solicitation.

what kinda neighborhoods you hittin' up for those deck quotes, mostly older homes or new builds?

tell em your $1500 deck fix comes with a free cat-proof railing upgrade, cuz last time i skipped that the damn thing turned into a feline trampoline and i ate shit off the side.

stuck to my $1500 guns on a cedar deck rebuild last month and the guy paid up after i showed him the kreg jig demo. feels damn good closing deals without bending on price.

these homeowners always lowball like they think we're made of money, had a guy yesterday try to haggle my $1200 deck fix down to $800. shoulda just walked away but i ended up doing it for $950 and still feel ripped off.

Door knocking with a demo? that's gold, had a guy laugh at my pitch until i showed him the jig in action and he signed on the spot.

Ha yeah the visual sells it way better than words, turned that laugh into $1800.

keep that jig ready for every pitch, cuts the bs and seals the deal twice as fast.

those damn homeowners slam the door in your face after hearing $1500, like they expect a full deck rebuild for chump change while angie leads keep flooding the market with bottom feeders.

Closed three deck jobs this month off cold calls alone, all over $2k each with treated lumber and stainless hardware. Proud of ditching the flyers for face to face.

What kinda response rate you getting on those inspections? Mine's like 1 in 10 but the ones that bite are solid.

These homeowners act like $1500 is robbery for a deck that could collapse any day. Screw em, I only chase the ones who get it.

try hitting doors after 5pm when folks are home from work, i land about one $1500 deck repair gig every ten knocks that way.

Insurance companies loving these cheapo decks waiting to fail, then we get the emergency calls at double the rate. Rage inducing.

Same boat here, quoted a railing job last month and the haggling wore me out.

Ugh the constant no's make you question if it's worth the shoe leather.

Tried emailing pics of before/after deck work but crickets, way more frustration than results.
