Man, I'm so fed up with how scheduling has gone to hell lately. I've been juggling patch jobs, deck repairs, and minor electrical fixes for years, but now clients are canceling left and right because they can't afford the gas to get here or whatever excuse. We're right on the Gulf and the humidity makes everything take twice as long anyway, so when they bail last minute, it screws my whole week. Last Tuesday I had three jobs lined up back to back, all small gigs like fixing leaky faucets and hanging shelves, but two no-showed and the third wanted to haggle the price down on site. It's like they think handymen are just hobbyists who can reschedule on a dime. I'm using a basic calendar app but it's not cutting it with all these flakes. Who's got tips for locking in these appointments without losing my mind? This collective BS is killing small operators like me.

screw the flakes, start charging a $50 no-show fee upfront and watch how quick they commit. these cheapskates think handymen are free labor cuz they haggle like it's a flea market, but im tellin ya, flat rate quotes with deposits lock em in better than any app. been burnt too many times on the gulf with last-minute bs, so now i dont even schedule without 20% down. if they cant afford gas, they sure as hell cant afford my time wasted.
